  • ENHANCE/ One step up programmes 2007/2008

    The Enhance project was an important part of the overall Step Up Programme, funded by Interreg and managed in Ireland by FAS, to address a major aspect of this up-skilling – specifically workers aged over 35 who are considered low skilled. The Model County Group managed this Interreg programme for the up-skilling of Ireland’s workforce in Wexford to increase productivity and hence competitiveness which was considered essential for economic growth and sustained employment expansion over the next decade. It trained and supported 200 people through the training programme.

  • Engineering Network

    The Engineering Network (ENGNET) was supported by Wexford County Enterprise Board and Waterford Institute of Technology financed using ESF funding through Accel, National Development Plan and The European Social fund through the Department of Enterprise and Trade. The aim of the programmes was to create and support a network of Engineering Companies based in the South East region of Ireland. The funding budget was €284,000 in 2007/2008.

  • Virtual Incubation Centre (VIC-IRL)

    The Virtual Incubation Centre project is the result of a successful application for funding of almost €400,000 by WIT to the Accel programme, an initiative of the Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment that is funded by the European Social Fund and the National Training Fund.

    The virtual incubation centre model is an exciting and innovative concept that is unique in both an Irish and international context.  The project will provide online training, online mentoring and various other online tools to support and facilitate the growth of micro-businesses in the Wexford and South East region.  The services provided online by the virtual incubation centre will be supplemented and supported by various physical services provided through the Enterprise Centre in Enniscorthy where the project is based.

  • Enterprise Support Unit

    Waterford Institute of Technology’s Enterprise Support Unit in Enniscorthy has an exciting and innovative approach to business development. It was instrumental in securing over a million euros in funding for WIT in Business Development and Technological Enhancement Projects. The Enterprise Support Unit was established to help in the transfer of knowledge and technology by means of training, mentoring and business advice for Wexford businesses and employees. The Unit has build up a reputation of providing practical training and support in Wexford.

  • County Wexford Business Skillnet

    The Model County Enterprise Group CLG managed The County Wexford Business Skillnet between 2009 – 2013. The Skillnet network run training course in the following topics: Customer care and customer services, Microsoft, Energy related subjects, CPC for Transport Managers to name a few.
